Summary

The Agile Technical Product Owner is responsible for gather feature requests and user or business requirements, prioritize them, and break down epics and features with development teams for product implementation. You will work closely with stakeholders (business and IT) across the organization to define scope and create roadmaps and requirements to deliver on-time and high quality software products that align with business goals.

The candidate will support the company strategy with strong data management background who understands data - ingestion, proper use/consumption, quality, and stewardship. In this highly visible role you will partner with the other members of the Cost Transparency teams (incl. lines of business such as: Client, Provider, Customer); as well as business leaders in the value streams and other key areas, to understand their challenges and guide the Agile work stream to deliver products and solutions to enable positive experiences for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will serve as a primary liaison between engineering, product management and customers with subject matter expertise.

You will use your technical background to bridge the gap between the product and technical side of the product development and must be experienced in managing all aspects of roadmap creation, backlog grooming, feature and epic refinement.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Responsibilities


  • Under the direction of the Product Manager, decompose program epic work requirements, prioritize work into features and technical user stories for team members to clearly understand what to do


  • Bridge the gap between the product and technical side of the product development with their technical background


  • Take ownership of assigned features and lead the creation and prioritization of the team backlog


  • Lead prioritization of work for delivery team based on business value and engagement with stakeholders


  • Monitor resource capabilities and arrange for coaching, training or resource adjustments


  • Work with the assigned ART (Agile Release team) RTE (Release Train Engineer) to ensure cross-team dependencies are identified and managed


  • Actively participate in program increment planning, roadmap activities, and program prioritization and sequencing activities. Provide read-outs to ART teams in a clear and concise manner that allows other teams to understand impacts, dependencies, etc.


  • Escalate risks to RTE and/or Product Manager


  • Assist scrum masters in assessing the scrum maturity of the team and implementing any processes that support the team


  • As needed, coordinate vetting of epics with impacted teams so that features can be written for each team by the corresponding Product Owner. Epics could include:

    • Initiative epics where there is no RTE/ coordinator from the business


    • Next-level detail architecture design discussions to refine details around client/ producer solutions





  • Carries technical knowledge into strategic conversations about the product


  • Assist with managing the work being done across teams for anything not managed by RTE/ LPM/ others within the client/ producer ART

    • Manage cross-team/ business dependencies during implementation (within the PI)


    • Address/escalate issues as needed




  • Coordinate updates to the business for work they are funding including m onthly status updates, scheduling, agenda creation and providing notes and updates

Qualifications


  • 3+ years' experience in a product owner or scrum master experience implementing solutions projects


  • 2+ years' experience in data management, data governance and/or data quality in a data management organization; healthcare industry experience is a plus


  • Experience with Cloud solutions (AWS/Azure) is a plus


  • Excellent ability to develop and build teams by assessing quality talent and motivating/inspiring others


  • Sound understanding of Agile Methodology and other project management methodologies is required


  • Previous experience with Agile Central or comparable agile management tools is required


  • SAFe Agile PM/PO Certification preferred


  • Demonstrated core project management skills including project planning, scope management, issue and risk management, resource planning, financial management, etc.


  • Experience working in an organization going through an Agile transformation and ability to adapt when working with teams that are not Agile is highly desired


For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $102,400 - $170,600, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
