About You

As a Process Automation Engineer supporting Dow's LHC-7 Facility, you will serve as both a technical and process automation resource for the plant. This role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, broadened conceptual knowledge and the ability to think critically to support and improve the plant's operability.

LHC-7 will be going through a MOD5 to ABB migration this year, which is an exciting opportunity!

Responsibilities / Duties:


  • Scope, Develop, Simulate and Implement new process automation code to increase plant stability


  • Support capital projects through the development and implementation of new code


  • Identify opportunities to increase plant operability and profitability through Process Automation improvements


  • Provide technical guidance to plant operating technicians on process automation systems and plant operability


  • Improve plant automation through advanced tuning and troubleshooting


  • Partner with plant operations to diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility


  • Maintain, own and review daily process automation key performance indicators (KPI) and improve overall system health


  • Conduct daily review of logbook and alarm history to better understand the plant operation and stay engaged with daily operations activities


Required Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred)


  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing or related)


  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous hydrocarbons or process automation experience is highly preferred
