Job Description:

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Customer & Business Events Program Manager located in Midland, MI!

About You

In this role, you will be responsible for leading key strategic global and/or regional events while partnering with Dow executive leaders to impact commercial results. You will also responsible for all pre- and post-planning for events, including logistics, attendee management, on-site implementation and reconciliation of those events.

Additional responsibilities include:


  • Manage global and/or regional key strategic corporate-aligned events


  • Partner with executive leadership and key stakeholders to create program scope, objective and determine how to achieve desired results


  • Select and manage global suppliers


  • Align key events with Dow messaging and branding


  • Program Management includes: site selection; supplier negotiations | contracts; coordination of food and beverage, audio-visual equipment, event space, lodging rooms, ground transportation, off-site dinners, teambuilding and giveaways


  • Communications | Event Technology: responsible for event communications and printed collateral; provide information for the creation of registration website | survey | mobile app


  • Safety: work with Dow Security team to establish event safety and security management plan | provide awareness and ensure suppliers are meeting Dow's safety requirements


  • Budget Management | Compliance: establish and manage an approved event budget (multiple currencies); work closely with finance team; ensure global supplier payments | VAT are handled appropriately; capture cost savings; follow standard Dow compliance regarding giveaways, entertaining and gifts


  • Operations: contribute to department strategy goals, develop and refine best practices and work processes


Your knowledge, skills & abilities include:


  • Ability to work with Dow partners and customers at all different levels | Top level management


  • Strong Communications | Organizational | Negotiation Skills


  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


  • Calm under pressure


Required Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher


  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience


  • Travel up to 30%


  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
