SSD Social Sciences Computing Services: Longacre



About the Department



Social Sciences Computing Services (SSCS), a unit of the Social Sciences Division (SSD) provides support for SSD administration, research, and instructional activities. SSCS works closely with on-campus partners, departments, and vendors to further the mission of the Division.



Job Summary



The job performs routine assignments related to software support and/or development. Provides analysis, design, development, debugging, and modification of computer code for end user applications, beta general releases, web pages, and production support. Troubleshoots problems using existing procedures to find a possible solution.



Responsibilities



  • Development and maintenance of SolarWinds Service desk workflow code related to departmental processes and assets.

  • Development and maintenance of Microsoft Office code and workflows in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and other systems.

  • Documentation of existing and new business practices and code related to operational support.

  • Develop web and Samanage presentations regarding SSCS policy and initiatives.

  • Assist with the management of data use agreements.

  • Works with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for developmental programs. Receives a moderate level of guidance to design applications to meet University and business requirements.

  • Supports and maintains existing applications. Works with web developers and responds to requests from users.

  • Performs other related work as needed




Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree




Experience



  • WordPress and Web Development.

  • SolarWinds ServiceDesk/Samanage




Preferred Competencies



  • Ability to develop and adapt new skills in web development, business process integration, and documentation.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel PowerQuery and ability to learn develop skills.

  • Ability to write basic technical documentation of business processes and workflows.

  • Integrity and credibility to work with sensitive data.

  • Outstanding deductive and reasoning skills.

  • Understanding of JAMF and SCCM processes related to the management of personal computers.
