Project Manager, Professional Services
Harris SmartFusion - This remote role welcomes candidates from anywhere in Canada or the US.

Our Professional Services team has an exciting opportunity for a driven individual, and we are looking for a Project Manager that is passionate about providing implementation services for our clients. It is mission-critical for the Project Manager to be a leader and champion that will act as a conduit between management, the Professional Services team, key clients, and third-party vendors. This role will support clients by acting as the first point of contact to ensure that their organizational goals are met. In addition, the Project Manager will be dedicated to monitoring and controlling the scope of work, engagement team priorities, and project finances related to profitability, timely realization of revenue, and ensuring that he or she and the implementation team members maintain an expected level of billable utilization. As an integral part of a motivated and collaborative team striving to guarantee our clients’ positive experience with us and our products, excellent management, communication, organizational skills, and flexibility is a must for this role.

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Services, the Project Manager will collaborate with SmartFusion clients located mainly throughout the south and southeast portion of the United States. This is a remote (work from home) position with a work schedule based on the Eastern Time Zone.

What you will be doing:

Project Planning, Scope Management & PMO Improvements


  • Review statement of work and create an effective project plan to deliver on specified solution

  • Assist in overall scheduling and coordination of implementation resources

Project Delivery & Critical Issue Resolution


  • Manage project financials

  • Proactively resolve project issues to mitigate delays and to reduce the impact on the client and project timelines

  • Provide updates to management team and coworkers on customer/project status, proactively identifying issues and resolving or escalating as appropriate

  • Responsible for working capital, ensuring that milestones and work in progress are approved, invoiced, and paid in a timely manner

Client Management & Leadership


  • Consistently manage customer expectations and ensure delivery of quality service

  • Work closely with customer project managers to ensure successful completion of software implementation projects

  • Conduct post implementation reviews to identify areas of improvement and apply learning

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices within the PS team

What we are looking for:


  • 3+ years managing multiple enterprise or software implementation projects concurrently

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, as well as ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Possess a deep understanding of all activities associated with software system implementations

  • Capacity to maintain a calm demeanor in challenging situations

  • Excellent writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Willingness to travel for client meetings (10-30%)

What will make you stand out:


  • Experience working in a PMO

  • PMP Certification (preferred, but not required)

  • Basic experience with SQL scripts and commands to make database changes (preferred, but not required)
