Job Description:

PPG Aerospace has an exciting, opportunity available! As an Optical Technical Specialist , you will assist in the continuous improvement efforts, development, and testing of optical improvements that reflect the quality and meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will support manufacturing by utilizing best practices, training other operators, and ensuring all follow good manufacturing practices , read on!
Key Responsibilities:

• Support our organization's EHS-associated elements in the Primary finish Department
• Responsible for interacting with plant production personnel and QA personnel to assist with problem resolution as it pertains to coatings
• Product development via testing new techniques, carrying out the design of experiments (DOE) studies, primary finish, and performance testing is expected
• Monitoring and recording of primary finish and optical data processing
• Utilizing computer and software such as Excel to collect and perform data analysis
• Equipment and systems analysis and troubleshooting
• Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts
• Learn and support RCCA events
• Create Standard Work creation in all areas of primary finish and Optical testing
• Facilitate training events and, eventually, lead training

Qualifications :

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• High School Diploma
• Professional experience can be a replacement for academic exposure.
• Primary finish and Optical testing experience are preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a production environment is required.
• Experience with computers and standard software packages required.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, and drawings are helpful.
• Great communication skills, strong work ethic, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work in a team environment are must haves for this role.
