Responsibilities

The Station Manager is responsible for the local sales and operations of the station including meeting the station operating objectives to support the company goals. The Station Manager will assist the Regional Business Leader with recruiting, motivating, and training of all employees within the station location including local sales representatives. The Station Manager will be responsible for the fiscal and operational oversight, leadership and direction of the station, ensuring station goals and objectives are met.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and communicating station operational KPIs and metrics. Ensures KPIs and metrics are clearly posted in the station and understood by all employees.
  • Actively involved in direct sales development that drives station growth.
  • Review, revise and collaborate with corporate pricing on all customer tariffs. Monitor and review quote requests to ensure maximum profitability for the station while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Review, revise, and approve all customer operational SOP's with the objective of improving quality and efficiencies.
  • Conduct customer profitability reviews on a regular basis.
  • Service all existing customers, while marketing full range of transportation services to new customers. Meet company service metric expectations.
  • In conjunction with the Regional Business Leader, recruit, train and develop local sales team. Holding sales team members accountable to their individual sales plan.
  • Provide operational support to empower sales team to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for Station revenue growth, quality of revenue, and all related overhead resulting in the operating income goals being achieved.
  • With corporate support, actively develop local vendor relationships resulting in station, regional and companywide yield improvement while maintaining EFW service standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and posting of all transactions on a daily basis.
  • Maintains communication and positive relationships with employees to promote employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules and adjusts accordingly to ensure adequate staffing that supports operational demands and business objectives.
  • Ensure safety methods and programs are implemented and maintained.
  • Compliance with company C-TPAT security procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics or related field plus 1-3 years of sales and operations experience in transportation, logistics or other transportation business or activity with a clear understanding of multiple modes and services within the transportation/logistics industry required.

A combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration.

3-5 years of managerial experience in a customer-centric freight forwarding environment preferred.

Travel up to 25% may be required.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, internet, web-based and job specific software applications required.

Applicants must show demonstrated success in leading, supervising, managing and developing high performance teams.

Ability to allocate decision making authority and/or task responsibilities to others to maximize the organization's and individuals' effectiveness required.

Demonstrated leadership skills in influencing departments and implementing and managing change.

Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.

Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
