As Manager, Facilities & Maintenance, you are responsible for managing the operations and maintenance of Lands' End buildings, equipment, and grounds. You are accountable for maintaining effective working relationships between management, supervisors, consultants, crafts people, and contractors. Also, you are responsible for projecting and managing the annual department budget and staffing plans; building and equipment Capital investments, development and management of staff and communicating new procedures, programs and/or policies. You also serve as a liaison with other departments.
Responsible for development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts for staffing and equipment needs which includes analysis, recommendations, and requests for new and/or upgraded systems to attain optimum department efficiency.
Play an essential role in facilitating communication from the Director/VP to the Supervisors/Leads and front-line staff in the department.
Manage Leaders, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment
Set team goals (productivity, quality, leader growth, warehouse efficiencies, great place to work) in collaboration with executive management and other department leaders. Must be a positive catalyst for change and motivator to meet & exceed department objectives.
Establish warehouse/embroidery practices and protocols to achieve an efficient operation.
Performs operational analysis to identify and recommend methods improvements and assist in implementation.
Coordinate’s equipment installation, testing, debugging, and training utilizing outside contractors or in-house maintenance employees.
Responsible for conducting long range space planning studies, evaluating furniture systems, and assisting in the negotiations of long-range product contracts. Develops alternate office layouts, obtains, and evaluates competitive quotes, and issues purchase orders relative to office furniture and related accessories.
Responsible for managing the operations and maintenance of Lands' End buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Monitor workplace performance and leader training initiatives.
Must follow all safe work practices, escalate unsafe conditions, and report incidents.
Develops and maintains a 5-year capital plan for buildings and equipment, works with DC leaders on their capital needs. Investigates options for capital purchases, collects bids, completes Capital request documents and presents request to finance.
Skills
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in related area (Engineering, Operations Management, Facility Planning, etc.) along with strong leadership experience
Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems, distribution center operations, workflow and staffing experience
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities - Understanding of assessment procedures: performance appraisal process, interpretation and decision making related to performance problems, corrective discipline process, career development tools and evaluation forms. Ability to motivate and encourage others.
