JOB SUMMARY:

The Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business Director of Diversity will participate in and advocate for all diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives within the college. Cultivate opportunities for the recruitment and retention, of students, faculty and staff from underrepresented minorities by partnering with internal and external stakeholders and serving as an advocate for underrepresented populations. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential - Cultivate Inclusion: Build relationships with external partners that support and promote diverse student applicant pools. Promote the retention of underrepresented minority staff and faculty. Coordinate the inclusion of Search Advocates on all staff and faculty search committees, teaching and exhibiting best practices. Represent the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business (PCoB) at university diversity initiatives/committees, speaking and advocating on behalf of underrepresented groups. As part of the Dean's leadership team, participate in the development of the college's strategic plan. Support the fulfillment of the PCoB Diversity Strategic Plan. Provide regular assessments and summaries of progress to the Dean and stakeholders.

30% - Essential - Establish and Cultivate Diversity Student Recruitment Initiatives: Identify areas and opportunities for DEIB recruitment programming., including internal and external activities, such as campus visits, off campus appearances, summer programs, regular correspondence with prospective students and management of details for recruiting initiatives specifically targeting underrepresented populations. Actively participate in activities, as needed. Build relationships with external partners that support and promote diverse student applicant pools.

20% - Essential - Incoming and Current Student Support: Provide mentoring and developmental advising for all PCoB students from underrepresented populations including racial minorities, first generation, and Pell-eligible students with increased focus on transfer students in these populations. Assist with Orientation and other recruitment and retention activities coordinated by the Academic Advising Center staff. Support, encourage, and advise the college's student organizations to increase their involvement in DE&I advocacy.

10% - Essential - College Climate Research: Provide leadership in conducting research regarding climate for students, faculty and staff. Share results with college and university stakeholders. Use results to develop long-term goals and annual objectives for the college with regard to support and advocacy for underrepresented / under-served populations.

10% - Essential - Fundraising and Partnership Development: Partner with the Dean to develop fundraising opportunities for DEIB scholarships, retention, and inclusion. Begin committees. Sit on committees as DEIB Chair to help represent the Dean in regard to all DEIB initiatives; report on DEIB accomplishments and strategies. Assist in securing funding for recruiting and retaining under-served student populations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree

Work Experience - 3+ years in a related field

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ( $77,513.00 - $95,000.00 )
