Responsible for maintaining an enthusiastic and professional work environment consistent with the policies of Taos Ski Valley, Inc. resulting in high employee morale and motivation and guest satisfaction in an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
Work closely with all departments and become an active resource for guest and employee safety issues.
Provides a guest experience that exceeds the guest's expectations.

Consistently seeks out new opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and innovation.
Assists in hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining, rewarding and terminating staff.
Administers paying-for-performance wage program; reviews all payroll and time information; obtains approval for all wage changes; coordinates check distribution; is available on pay day for any questions.
Ensure all administrative functions of department are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Assists with performance reviews of staff and all personnel paperwork.
Helps establish pre-season and daily operational plans and then directs staff to fulfill these plans. This includes strategies for ticket checking, base area, and on-mtn guest services.
Help develop the daily and weekly schedule to account for low, medium, high, and peak days.
Ensure high ticket checking scan %, and effective ticket troubleshooting efficiency.
Create a daily base area layout for ski racks/mazes/etc., that is clean and organized.
Ensure proper line control coverage and rotation schedule, on-mtn support for speed control and guest direction, peak season support and coverage, plaza and drop off guest services.
Guide and assist the daily guest interaction and communication.
Ensure the staff and guests have real time information from the parking lot to the base area lifts as it relates to the skiing experience.
Helps manage, oversee, and execute on the Mountain Dispatcher role and responsibilities.
Help delegate roles and responsibilities to staff during times of unusual circumstances to ensure we are managing guest expectations and experiences - wind/lightning holds, snow morning delays, peak season crowds, etc. Be one step ahead of the guest.
Be proactive about addressing, responding, and solving guest feedback.
Help manage departments in a way that is financially responsible and diligent. Submits purchase needs to management.
Understand, operate, and participate in all department duties. Direct the daily start up and shut down of each area.
Oversee daily logistics to ensure vehicle access and equipment resources are in place and efficiently used. Ensure equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.
Support and advance company goals with diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Work towards innovation and efficiency in the department including the use of the latest technology, sustainability measures, and ski industry standards. This also includes tracking data and having it guide operational decisions.
Make sure all work is up to USFS, NMED, OSHA, and industry safety codes and standards.
Help develop, direct and oversee all aspects of training and orientations.
Work closely with all administrative and operational departments as it relates to day to day operation of a winter and summer ski area.
Attend and be an active participant in all Operations meetings, HR training, and All Staff meetings.
Maintain safety manuals and safety procedures. Provide and organize safety trainings.

Qualifications:

Must have valid driver's license.
Working knowledge of Industry Standards/Guidelines for each area.
Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.
Must maintain current certifications consistent with winter and summer operations.
At least three years of ski area related experience.
Working knowledge of all related gear/equipment.
Strong oral and written communication skills a must. Computer skills required in order to communicate / email and track inventory parts. Also, parts research and online purchases.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Assists Manager with overseeing 2 foreman and 30 seasonal staff, who is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
