Job Description:


The Parts Room Specialist works under the supervision of Fleet Manager.

Counter worker supplies parts to mechanics who keep the fleets in good repair. In addition to supplying parts, the counter worker orders parts and stores them in the stockroom. They must be able to find parts when the technicians ask for them. The counter worker will also keep catalogs and price lists up to date. They use computer tracking to take inventory and order more parts when they are needed. Auto parts counter workers unpack and store incoming shipments and allocate parts used to fleet work tickets. Data entry will also be necessary.

He provides the mechanics with the parts they need. He is responsible for ordering parts, maintaining stock, searching information in catalogs and on computer databases. He is the primary contact for a majority of our vendors. The parts room specialist will keep track of inventory going into the parts room as well as inventory coming out. He will our inventory system and log parts used on the technician work tickets.


Must have good driving record and provide motor vehicle report. Must have good communication skills and. Must have a good eye for detail and strong organizational skills.

A high school diploma is generally required to work in this field. Familiarity with cars and mechanics is preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is consistently required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle, feel; and talk, hear & see. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to work under high pressure in a fast-paced environment with employees in 3 states in multiple locations. Travel to other company and incident locations may be required. Lifting requirements of a minimum of 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly in verbal contact with others and constantly works face-to-face with and around others. Consistently uses office equipment such as computers, typewriters, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, keyboard, calculator, stapler, etc.
