Optima Solutions Pilot Applications Operator at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Flint, Michigan

Job Description:

The Optima Solutions Pilot Applications Operator is part of a team of application, service and equipment operators at our Optima Solutions Application Campus.
Key Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates booth, application & robotic equipment to run and support Design of Experiment (DOE)
• Reduces, loads and cleans out samples for lab equipment
• Coordinates process sequencing, parts and panel handling
• Collects and provides data - enters process and product data into tracking system and DOE worksheets
• Supports operational excellence and production systems uptime
• Works with supervisors, engineers, EH&S, technical and product management to ensure all new application equipment & products introduced are thoroughly vetted, validated and the process mapped from a facility, EH&S, and application perspective
• Follows and is knowledgeable of all EH&S guidelines and identifies areas for EH&S improvement
• Employees in this role may be asked to specialize in one or more of the following three areas of the facility, cross training is highly encouraged:
• Substrate Protection Application Development & Pilot Centre (SDC): pre-treatment and e-coat systems in support of Pilot vehicle program
• Decorative Coating Application Development & Pilot Centre (ADC): liquid and powder decorative coating robot booth process; pilot unit sealer deck and hand spray booths
• Mobility & Adjacency Application Development & Pilot Centre (MAC): Mobility, A&S and other adjacencies robot booth process; cross SBU pilots

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with paint applications
