Position Summary
Partners with first line management and other risk assurance teams to proactively identify, assess, mitigate, report, and monitor risk and mitigation effectiveness, and to assess operational risks in the context of philosophy statements, appetite statements, and tolerances of the highest complexity. Serves as an expert resource and primary advisor for operational risk management matters of the highest complexity.
Leads highly complex initiatives in any of the following programs: Operational Risk Management, Integrated Risk Assurance, and Business Continuity. May also plan and lead Enterprise Risk Management initiatives as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates, and executes highly complex activities related to ERIE's Operational Resiliency Program.
Operational Risk Management
With minimal guidance, prepares recommendations and leads initiatives to enhance the Operational Risk Management Program that include consistent identification, assessment, mitigation, reporting, and monitoring of risks related to business processes, people, and technology.
Prepares reports and metrics for various corporate stakeholders: business process leaders, senior leaders, executive leaders, and the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors.
Prepares analyses and recommendations for insurance policy renewals with management liability insurance carriers, insurance brokers, and other risk transfer companies.
Supports requests from regulatory agencies for information related to risk or business resiliency, and internal requests for enterprise risk assessments.
Integrated Risk Assurance
With minimal guidance, prepares recommendations and leads highly complex initiatives for the Integrated Risk Assurance program that seeks to improve operational risk management effectiveness through coordination, collaboration, and automation that are aligned with other risk assurance functions.
Supports efforts of ERIE's risk assurance functions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of scheduling and conducting operational risk assessments, and to control expenses related to Total Cost of Risk.
Duties and Responsibilities (cont'd if applicable)
Leads efforts to reduce duplication of effort, shared data, improve operational resiliency, and provides actionable reporting to ERIE leadership that is consistent and easy to understand.
Participates in the implementation and administration of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) technology solution.
Business Continuity
With minimal guidance, prepares recommendations and leads initiatives for the Business Continuity Management Program in alignment with Operational Risk and to mitigate risks with the design, development, maintenance, execution, and exercising of the Business Continuity Management suite of plans of the highest complexity.
With minimal guidance, leads the design, development, maintenance, execution, and exercising of Business Continuity Plans and related response plans.
Prepares reports and metrics related to business resiliency and Business Continuity Plans for Risk Assurance Advocates and business area leaders.
Participates and represents Business Continuity in support of the Incident Management Team in response to business interruptions.
Participates in the implementation and administration of Business Continuity Management technology.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline, and six years' experience in insurance, risk management, business continuity, or related business analysis experience required; or
Associates degree in a business-related discipline, and eight years' experience in insurance, risk management, business continuity, or related business analysis experience required; or
High school diploma and ten years' experience in business-related discipline, with a minimum of eight years' experience in insurance, risk management, business continuity, or related business analysis experience required.
Some knowledge of the insurance market, insurer operations, information technology and disaster recovery procedures required.
