Academic Technologies Librarian December 14th 2021

Allegheny College, a small selective national liberal arts college, invites applications for
the position of Academic Technologies Librarian (ATL). The position is a full-time,
exempt, position reporting to the Associate Director of the Library in Library and
Information Technology Services (LITS).

We are seeking an individual who understands the management and discovery of
academic technologies used in higher education. In collaboration with LITS staff, the
successful candidate will be the primary technical support person for the learning
management system, library service platform, resource sharing system, and discovery
platforms, including Canvas, Ex Libris Alma, Summon, and Primo VE, and OCLC
ILLiad. The ATL will also manage internally-created digital resources, including
manuscripts, images, audio / video, and student / faculty research and publications. In
particular, the candidate will be responsible for managing the library's DSpace
institutional repository and Allegheny's collections in JSTOR Forum.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements: The position requires a Masters in Library
Science, Information Science or equivalent. Recent library school graduates are
encouraged to apply. Applicants should have an understanding of learning management
systems, library service platforms, discovery platforms, institutional repositories, and
digital asset management systems. LITS staff at Allegheny are dynamic, adaptable,
multifaceted individuals who enjoy learning new skills, collaborating with team
members, and tackling complex problems. Candidates must have excellent analytical,
organizational, project management, and listening skills. Applicants with the ability to
identify and apply best practices through the lens of institutional need and culture are
desired.
