Be part of Hilton's newest upscale brand and just our 2nd hotel in the collection, Signia by Hilton San Jose! We're looking for a talented Restaurant General Manager to join this elite Food & Beverage Management Team.

Located in the capital of Silicon Valley in downtown San Jose, the beautifully renovated Hilton managed hotel opened in May 2022 boasting over 800 rooms amongst two towers, five (5) food and beverage outlets, and 65,000 square feet of meeting space.

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, the General Manager will oversee the trend setting dining and high-energy bar operation, AJI Bar & Robata, managing a unionized team of 15-20 and be an integral member of the Food & Beverage Management team.

AJI Bar & Robata is a spectacular new concept and experience where the chic energy of an inner-city bar meets the laid back vibes of "California cool."  Guests can sample an inventive intersection of Japanes technique and Peruvian flavor and connect with innovative pairings and our signature cocktails.

The ideal candidate will be a strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills and a passion for creating unique and memorable guest experiences. At least two (2) years of bar management experience in an upscale environment and a background a beverage menu creation is required. Prior union management and hotel experience are a plus.

What will I be doing?

As General Manager of AJI Bar & Robata, you would be responsible for directing and administering sales of beverages in all outlets (restaurants, lounges, etc.) of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


  • Manage all beverage operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation

  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward

  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly

  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards

  • Initiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote beverage sales and services and to maximize overall revenue

  • Recruit, interview and train team members
