The Network Test Engineer is responsible for E2E testing and certification of Managed Wireless Wi-Fi and IP core network elements. This candidate plays a key role in evaluating and certifying IP Core Network deployment MOPs and IGs for the company. The Wi-Fi Core Network Test Engineer builds Virtual machines, storage NetApp, VMware. Creates strategic test plans and perform testing to ensure quality, performance and stability of Wireless IP networking products in the company's network ensuring the highest levels of customer and operational satisfaction. Technologies you will be supporting include, Cisco Spine-Leaf topology networks, Wi-Fi Access Gateways, Access Points, Service Provider Wi-Fi Controllers, and many other newer technologies developed based on industry standards. You will collaborate with Network Architects and Product Development Teams. Understand business and technology requirements and assess vendor solutions to address the requirements and create use cases for certification. You will work with Network development teams to create detailed test plans, test and reports issues to developers and prepare certification reports, analysis of performance criteria. You will also partner with technical operations staff on system design, troubleshooting, configuration and training needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Responsible for test and certification of AA A servers and login portal web sites.

Experience in Wi-Fi and Captive portal testing
Solid knowledge in routing and switching concepts
Experience with Nokia 7750 is required
Test tool experience with Spirent and IXIA is required
Experience in Linux Operating Systems and Python programming required
Knowledge in RADIUS protocols preferred
Have good troubleshooting skills to resolve issues. Participates in lab network planning, design and engineering.
Evaluates and certifies Methods of Procedures (MOP) and Installation Guide (IG) in new network solutions, performs network problem resolution in the Lab.
Define Test cases, development test plans and documentation of technical test reports.
Test, certify and approve methods of procedure (MOP) and Installation Guides (IG).
Implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement
Works on projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization
Track defects on MOPs and IG to development team through ticketing system (JIRA) and follow up for resolution for verification.
Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project team lead
Mentor less experienced engineers
Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable
Know, understand and follow company policy
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Should have excellent knowledge in RADIUS, testing of routers, switches, various topologies, Access points, WLAN Controllers, in-Home Router, TR-069, IPSEC, QoS, 802.11, IPv4, IPv6 protocols.
Excellent knowledge in routing, switching protocols. Knowledge in SNMP, CAPWAP, LWAP protocols is a plus.
Experience developing test automation utilizing Python programming languages is desirable.
Must have good experience with tools like Spirent, IXIA traffic load generators for Network performance testing and analysis
Knowledge of various Network adjuncts and services i.e. AAA, Diameter, EAP, LTE Data, GRE, Soft GRE, L2TP, CAPWAP.
Experience using protocol communications test equipment and tools (protocol analyzers, LTE system simulators, wifi analyzers and packet sniffers) preferred.
Experience with E2E System Testing and Q/A of Layer 1 thru 7 networks required.
Experience writing and developing detailed test cases and test plans
Must possess expert skills and experience with server, desktop operating systems and applications (Windows, MAC, Unix, Linux other Java-Linux platforms)
Strong work ethic with a desire to meet and exceed personal and business goals
Experienced technical writing skills sufficient to produce test cases, test plans, design documents, and technical diagrams
Ability to work both in a team and independently on assigned projects
Strong documentation, follow-up, communication skills

Knowledgeable in SDLC process with strong attention to process details
Possesses strong testing experience in similar Telecom industry preferred
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
Professional level certification or equivalent work experience
Related Work Experience
5+ years of professional experience in an MSO/ISP Networking Engineering capacity
