Materials Planner at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Sylmar, California

Job Description:

The Material Planner III of PPG Aerospace Transparency Manufacturing site in Sylmar, CA will balance the raw component supply against the demand requirements. This is accomplished through placing and managing purchase orders and optimizing the direct material inventory position. Can you support inspection and resolve stockroom discrepancies and documentation issues? If so, read on!
Key Responsibilities

• Build and release purchase orders for replenishment of raw components and materials.
• Communicate daily with suppliers, vendors, and customers to ensure needs are being met while updating purchase orders to align supply with current requirements.
• Work closely with manufacturing and scheduling teams to ensure that right quantity and mix of direct materials are available to support production plans.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with proven purchasing and/or planning experience.
• Proven understanding of MRP calculations and APICS certification preferred.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office - Excel (intermediate)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
