Sports Information Director at Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota

Job Description:



  1. General Purpose

    The Sports Information Director position is a full-time position with benefits and is responsible for all recording of all game statistics and required athletic information in compliance with rules of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA).  






    Key Tasks and Responsibilities



    S

    ports Information Director:



    1. Produce media guides and athletic programs.

    2. Maintain current information on College and Saints website in accordance with NAIA and NSAA regulations.

    3. Check all statistics (home and away) with coaching staff to ensure proper statistical reporting to the  NAIA and NSAA.   

    4. Attend all home athletic events and make arrangements for staffing of game day help for all home events, track and accurately report statistics for each sport including checking statistics for all home and  away games, make arrangements with home and visiting media for coverage of home games, and issue information to various media outlets.

    5. Develop and maintain appropriate and positive professional media relationships.

    6. Serve as a liaison between Presentation College and NAIA.

    7. Approve and publish press releases for Saints Athletics.

    8. Accommodate media representatives by issuing press credentials, supplying in-game statistics, and assisting in coordinating interviews and press conferences.

    9. Organize media days to publicize the Saints and allow media access to coaches and players in accordance with NAIA regulations.

    10. Manage and promote Saints Athletics through all current channels of Social media.

    11. Provide information for Saints recruitment.

    12. Maintain responsibility for managing the sports information function in accordance with the best practices of institutions at the NAIA level.

    13. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.






    Education and Training



     Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field.






    Knowledge and Experience


    Excellent writing skills required; possess a strong understanding and appreciation for all sports; demands excellent time management skills and attention to detail; must attend all athletic events and represent Presentation College at all meetings and/or conferences in accordance with NAIA requirements.  






    Core Competencies


    Must have the ability to coordinate several projects at the same time while under strict deadlines.  Must be outgoing and able to build rapport with people in the advancement of Saints Athletics and Presentation College.  Must have integrity and respect; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; leadership skills with ability to work effectively with all constituents.






    Working Conditions



  2. Normal temperature working environment. 

  3. Moderate to little amount of noise in the work environment. 

  4. Friendly, teamwork type of work environment.   

  5. Normal amount of overtime and extended work hours required.
