Job Description:


General Purpose


Collaborates with the simulation faculty and staff in performing duties essential to deliver interdisciplinary simulations. The purpose of this position is to assist the Simulation Coordinator in the Simulation Center.



Key Tasks and Responsibilities


Assist in preparation for simulations, Assist with simulation demonstrations and laboratory sessions, Assist with the coordination of scheduling of simulations as directed by the Simulation Coordinator, Assist with cleaning and maintenance of simulation equipment and supplies.


Physical requirement:
 The physical work environment may include mechanical, electrical and heavy lifting hazards as well as toxic substances. Essential: stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, and lifting usual weight of 10 pounds up to 25 pounds. Frequent: standing, walking, reaching at and below shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object. Occasional: sitting, twisting body, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, pushing/pulling usual weight of 10 pounds up to 25 pounds, carrying usual weight of 5 pounds, reaching above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions. Operates a computer, calculator, copier, facsimile, and telephone.



Education and Training


Must have interest in health care simulation technology. 



Knowledge and Experience


Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with academic and technical colleagues; must be proficient with hardware such as PC and Mac Computers, video cameras, and microphones; Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and have strong verbal and written communication skills; Knowledge of medical terminology preferred; Ability to prioritize the demands of Simulation Center; Ability to work a flexible schedule; Ability to work with computers.
