Our lab seeks an energetic individual to help us drive our research forward. We are cell biologists and biochemists who study how things move around in cells. Movement is often powered by the actin cytoskeleton, so we focus on actin-based processes. We use mammalian culture cells for much of our work, using live-cell microscopy to track dynamics of multiple proteins or organelles simultaneously. We also conduct cell-free biochemical experiments with purified proteins, with the goal of understanding mechanism at a molecular level. An interest in either live-cell microscopy or rigorous biochemistry is strongly desired for this position. The successful applicant would work on their own research project in addition to maintaining the laboratory.
