The Human Resources Manager will manage and direct the activities and staff involved in developing and/or maintaining HR services, policies, programs, and processes with a major focus on Culture, Hiring, & Retention. Establish functional business plans and provides for the development and alignment of HR Staff, products, programs and services to achieve organizational objectives. In this role, the HR Manager will ensure a safe working environment for all employees as well as support Quality, Production & Financial Objectives.
What you’ll Do:
Develop and administer various Human Resources strategic plans and procedures for all company personnel to include, but not limited to, Talent Management, Cultural Improvement, Hiring, & Retention
Plan, organize and control all activities of the HR Department; participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems
Implement and annually update the compensation program; rewrite job descriptions as necessary; work with Corporate Compensation and develop merit pool (salary budget); monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
Recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures; perform benefits administration to include annual enrollment activities and/or presentations; assist Safety Manager with Worker's Compensation, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow
Work with the HR Director to determine staffing needs; participates/coordinates recruitment effort for exempt, non-exempt and temporary workers within process and procedure; work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conduct reference checking; conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-path program and employee relations counseling; conduct exit interviews
Ensure Corporate Matrix for job approvals and compensation are within guidelines and obtain necessary approvals per process
Establish and maintain department records and reports, maintain organizational charts and employee directory. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings, such as seminars
Establish HR strategic plan for office in support of annual objectives
Evaluate reports, decision and result of department initiatives in relation to established goals; recommending solutions to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
Facilitate, measure, and improve the quality of people management
Work with a sense of urgency; ensure timelines are met and embody corporate values
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
Possess superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills
What you’ll need:
Bachelors’ Degree
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Human Resources
Human Resources experience in the industrial manufacturing sector; knowledge and experience with LEAN Manufacturing preferred
Ability to build strong relationships and report at all levels of the organization
Highly motivated team player with a “can do attitude”
PHR/SPHR designations highly desired
Ability to exercise sound judgment
Ability to assess risk and develop Human Resource plans and programs to mitigate liability and ensure operational success
Ability to analyze situations and determine root causes, responding with action plan for effective resolution
Experience supporting a Human Resource operation with non-exempt employees in a non-union environment; successful track record with proactive programs for union avoidance and employee retention
