Job Title: Corporate Marketing Coordinator

Reports to:  Director, Global Communications

Location: Hybrid/ Goleta, CA

The Role

We’re looking for a self-motivated Corporate Marketing Coordinator to support our internal and external communications efforts as part of our growing Global Communications team. You’ll play a key role driving our thought leadership around the future of work and company culture and will support our global company, ESG, and leadership marketing. You’ll play a key role in driving excitement, engagement, and innovation for our audiences through cutting-edge marketing practices and campaigns. You’ll be a critical partner to cross-functional teams across the company including CSR, DEI, Deckers Gives, HR, social media, PR and C-suite comms, and be an advisor to some of our most senior leaders. Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

Responsible for providing strategic consulting, execution and data analytics of Marketing and Communications plans as a shared service for the team initiatives tied to Deckers’ strategic plan:  


  • Initiating creative media campaigns, preparing and presenting content briefs, maintaining production schedules, and publishing digital content on-time. 

  • Designing and publishing content for a variety of internal and external communications channels which could include email, the intranet, social media, digital signage, mobile, and others as identified. 

  • Ensuring project stakeholders are identified and kept up to date on product status through regular reporting and check-ins. 

  • Analyze data to assess performance and provide strategic support on communication timing, campaign effectiveness, and additional marketing planning. 

CREATIVE CONTENT DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLISHING: 


  • Developing content for a variety of communications vehicles which could include press releases, news posts, videos, CEO communications, social media, etc. 

  • Maintains brand consistency on all collateral, creative, templates, signs, advertising, and corporate brand standards and usage guidelines. 

  • Manage and publish content to all social media channels  

  • Publish PR content with PR agency  

  • Provides project support on corporate marketing, communications, and PR initiatives. 

  • Content development (creative assets) for quarterly all company meetings, digital broadcasts and corporate events, websites, and video projects. 

  • In conjunction with the Media Specialist, capturing content at company events and conferences 

PRODUCTION AND PARTNERSHIP   


  • Tracking and executing the approval process for media requests and other media activities as needed. 

  • Participating and presenting in quarterly and annual committee meetings as a lead member of Corporate Communications Advisory Council. 

  • Sustaining and building relationships with key domestic and regional partners  

  • Maintaining asset libraries 

INNOVATION & BEST PRACTICES  


  • Identify and implement key trends in the digital landscape  

  • Ensure ongoing development, evaluation and improvement of content creation, communication planning, and digital channel development. 

  • Drive collaboration across functions, fostering a trusting culture where people listen openly to the ideas of others, look for possibilities, ask for help when needed, and assume accountability for their contributions.  

  • Keep up with best practices in corporate communications and marketing.

  • You are skilled at crafting engaging short form performance marketing and long form thought leadership content 

  • You are versatile and able to adapt to the brand voice of the company and style that is most appropriate for the content format. 

  • You enjoy working hard with a smart and talented team and are comfortable speaking up and making your opinion heard. 

  • You are a creative, flexible problem solver who loves to write, optimize and adjust copy to resonate with the target audience. 

  • You have an attention to detail, a level of consistency and creativity that enables you to generate work products with minimal guidance or supervision. 

  • You have an understanding of organizational processes and a knack for improving them, identifying and filling gaps where needed 

We’d love to hear from people with

Education/Certifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Organizational Psychology, or related field 

Work Experience: 


  • 3+ years of writing/editing/proofreading experience in corporate communications, journalism, publishing, public relations, marketing or related field (writing sample required) 

  • Comfortability with both short and long form copy writing  

  • Familiarity with platform management for web and email 

Skills/Competencies: 


  • Conceptual, creative thinker with a passion for writing, storytelling, and the willingness to learn from others 

  • Ability to lead and drive discussions/conversations with executives 

  • Exceptional project management, organization, strategic planning, and analytical skills 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, flexing environment 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
