Chubb is currently seeking a Worker’s Compensation Claim Director for our Southeast Region located in either the GA or Philadelphia, PA office.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct handle all aspects of workers compensation/lost time claims from set up to file closure.
Analyze policies, applicable law and facts/circumstances surrounding claims to determine appropriate coverage and compensability position.
Conduct ongoing investigations including communicating with policyholders, injured employees, medical providers and legal counsel when need, to gather all claim facts.
Administer statutory benefits and ensure reserve adequacy throughout the life of the file.
Conduct settlement negotiations and resolve claims on reasonable terms within appropriate value.
Ensure compliance with customer service requests including Special Handling procedures and state specific statutory regulations.
Assign defense counsel and manage litigation strategy and budgets on litigated files.
Respond timely to customer requests and provide the highest levels of service to Chubb business partners.
Qualifications
COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Requires knowledge of workers’ compensation statutes, regulations and compliance within the jurisdictions handled by the Southeast Region.
Preferred 10+ years of directly handling complex medical/legal workers’ compensation Lost Time cases or similar claim background.
Exceptional customer service and focus.
Ability to openly collaborate with leadership and peers to accomplish goals.
Advanced verbal and written skills.
Time management and multi-tasking capabilities with consistent follow through to meet deadlines.
Able to prepare status reports and present to internal and external customers during claim reviews.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to meet day to day demands of handling a complex caseload
Ability to multi-task varied and significant matters
Claims/legal experience, Line of Business claims experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
