This position will be based in Philadelphia PA. This group is responsible for preparing Chubb’s Earnings Press Release, Chubb’s Financial Supplement, assisting with the Earnings Call Commentary, among others. This role will be expected to assist the External Reporting Manager and overall team with the quarterly and annual reporting requirements and other duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary function of the role is to aid the External Reporting Manager on certain external filings and help with the preparation, analysis, and explanation of the quarter and annual financial results. Additional specifics are outlined below.
Reporting requirements for the quarter and year-end primarily include:
Assist the manager with the preparation of Chubb’s Earnings Press Release
Assist the manager with the preparation of Chubb’s Financial Supplement
Help review and prepare the Earnings Call Commentary for Chubb’s CFO
Review of Chubb’s CEO commentary
Assist the SEC Reporting Team on the 10-Q and the 10-K when necessary
Help collect data from global reporting teams for consolidation purposes
Assist with the analysis of the quarter and annual financial results, including fluctuations and trends and help explain the driving factors
Use of TM1 (excel add-in) and Intelligize (accounting research tool) for reporting purposes, including analysis and timely research
On an annual basis, assist with the review of Chubb’s CEO Shareholder Letter, Proxy Statement, and other annual report materials
Assist with preparing supporting documentation, including documentation needed for audit purposes
Other non-reporting period responsibilities primarily include:
Assist with reviewing marketing materials, such as our Company’s Corporate Presentation and Company Profile, among others, and post-earnings call debriefs
Help prepare documentation for the following quarter including rolling and reviewing our supporting files and other post-mortem projects
Assist with ad-hoc projects for senior leaders
Help review peer filings, research accounting guidance updates, and remain up to date with accounting, industry specific, and other current events
Assist and continually aim to recommend different approaches and strategies to improve the team’s overall processes
Reporting Relationships
Work closely with senior finance leaders
Coordinate with different functions within finance, such as the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team, SEC Reporting Team, Asset Management, among others
Work with teams outside of finance, including Investor Relations and global marketing teams, Management Reporting, Corporate Development, and more
Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt and utilize technological tools and advancements
High levels of exposure to both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
