Supply Chain Manager at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Sylmar, California

Job Description:

The Supply Chain Manager of PPG Aerospace Transparency Manufacturing site in Sylmar, CA will develop and create the strategy for efficient and effectively manufacturing and on-time delivery of products that consistently meet customer requirements. This will include ensuring timely and accurate response to customer's orders by providing the required information, schedules, materials and accurate systems to the manufacturing teams. You will also be responsible for the integration of sales forecasts, raw, in-process, and finished goods inventory. You will manage a team of production and material planning, shipping and warehouse operations. This is a leadership position that will drive improvement initiatives and requires a thorough knowledge of company operations, sales environment and cost structures.
Key Responsibilities

• Creation of an integrated production plan for civil and military products that reflects external and internal customer demand and priorities.
• Delivery of raw materials to manufacturing to fully support production needs.
• Drive execution towards the output and shipment plan through execution reviews, clear performance metrics, and effective escalation of customer issues.
• Responsible for inventory Management, effectively leading initiatives to optimize inventory with special attention to inventory health, days inventory on hand and stock agreements.
• This position maintains all segment critical metrics (OTIF, Inventory levels, Inventory Health, etc.), prepare for S&OP Cycle, manage strategical projects and prepare action plan to satisfy the needs of the business.
• Leads and drives critical review meetings including sales projections status, SIOP meetings and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• This position will report to the Sylmar Plant Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Operations. APICS certification preferred, but can be achieved during employment.
• Proven experience within a plant/manufacturing supply chain function, with demonstrated success in driving improved performance and metrics.
• Demonstrated understanding of sophisticated reporting tools, BI reports, and driving critical metrics.
