Utility Operator/Seal Tester at Ametek, Inc. in New Bedford, Massachusetts

Job Description:

General Overview: Perform highly repetitive seal test operations and lead chopping operations on glass to metal seal packages, following prescribed methods and practices. Work from written and/or verbal instructions.

Essential Elements:

• Perform seal test operation in accordance with the flowsheet requirements. Seal testing includes the use of leak test machine, degreasing operation, and proper tray and package use.

• Perform lead chop operation on selected housing lots on the chop equipment that the operator sets up or a tool room operator sets up per the housing specification drawing.

• Maintain necessary records. Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.

• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor, as necessary.

Secondary Elements:

• Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, and that established company policies and procedures are adhered to.

• Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.

• Work overtime as needed or as required with appropriate notice and in accordance with company policy.
