Job Description:

SVB Capital's Investor Relations team is currently segmented between Fundraising and Investor Relations. The Investor Relations Senior Associate will focus on contributing to and supporting Investor Relations efforts across credit and venture capital funds. The hire will report to the Principal of Credit Investor Relations. This individual's primary responsibilities will be communicating and providing investment and market information to existing and prospective limited partners. The Senior Associate will be tasked with maintaining the systems that contain client data and the processes that guide both routine and project-based interactions and fundraising. This role will contribute to the creation of updates, diligence, fund performance and establishing new investors.

The ideal candidate will have excellent collaboration and independent organizational skills, superior attention to detail, the ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. The candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, problem solver, team member and independent contributor. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both independently as well as collaborate across the different teams within SVB Capital and Silicon Valley Bank. The candidate will have work experience in asset management, client service and sales as well as knowledge in private credit and venture capital.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Support fundraising efforts through updating routine presentations, prepare meeting material such as notes on prospective LPs, assist with follow-up from meetings, diligence questionnaires and supporting new outreach. Track and enhance standard responses to FAQs and diligence questionnaires.

  • Ensure LP needs are met on a daily basis by monitoring the client inbox and promptly responding to inquiries including contact updates, meeting requests and NDAs. Raise issues to leaders, as necessary.

  • Maintain LP data in the CRM, ensure information is accurate and all engagement activities are captured.

  • Communicate both in excel and PowerPoint reports and verbally regarding LP and prospective investor processes to leadership.

  • Onboard investors, coordinate with both internal and external parties to work through any issues, capture new LP information in the CRM, distribute information to teams and management.

  • Investor meeting coordination, oversee meeting preparation processes, including scheduling as well as the generation and review of materials such as Preqin reports, prepare agendas, LP bios, and any additional briefing documentation such as press notes.

  • Provide oversight to quarterly and annual LP reporting to ensure timeliness and quality while driving enhancements, where additive.

  • Assist in the generation of and oversee the process for thought leadership pieces such as white papers, market update decks and support the hosting of online events such as an LP Day or annual meeting. Provide support for LP events including investor road show logistics.


Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with preference for economics, finance, business administration, accounting, engineering or marketing

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience at an investment manager, venture capital or private equity firm, fundraising organization, investment bank or similar organization

  • Tech savvy, with a high-level proficiency with CRM platforms as well as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Monday.com, etc.

  • Excellent written and grammar skills along with strong verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy

  • Exceptional planning ability and organization skills, with an ability to multi-task

  • Knowledge of private credit, venture capital or private equity, and the ability to very quickly learn more

  • Ability to process and use industry data for fundraises and client questions

  • Team player who is also self-motivated with the capability to work independently
