PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To collect and issue supplies to employees who work in the production areas. To ensure that the general housekeeping of the facility is maintained in accordance with the USDA, OSHA and Company regulations and standard. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Issues supplies at various times throughout the shift. Uses various chemicals to clean and sanitize the break room, restrooms, and all indoor areas Completes walk-through to make sure restroom and break rooms are clean and well stocked. Keeps track of all employee supplies and inputs into the computer and written report. Maintains records of all inventory in the supply room and turn in to appropriate personnel. Creates orders and requisitions to the purchasing manager for supplies. Gathers smocks at the beginning of a shift, after break times, and after the shift ends; washes smocks, and after drying, sort by size. Responsible for identifying and mending minor tears or missing buttons in smocks using a sewing machine or by hand. Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization. Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas. Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Supply Room Attendant and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describes all the work that may be required of the person in this position. Physical Activities: Be able to lift up to 40 pounds of supplies or trash at various times throughout the shift. Be able to stand for an entire shift; be able to extend arms, reach, bend/stoop and walk during shift. The working environment is wet, cold, hot and at times walking surfaces are slippery. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): gloves Travel: N/A Technical Experience: Have Hepatitis B vaccination series or can take the Hepatitis B vaccination series at the company's expense. If declining vaccination must complete declination form. Industry Experience: N/A Minimum Education: Be able to read and write English. Perform basic math. Must be able to read chemical instructions in English and understand chemical safety symbols. Preferred Education: N/A
