Personal Trainer - Schenectady Branch at Capital District YMCA in Schenectady, New York

Positions are available in multiple branch locations for passionate and energetic personal trainers!!!

Our personal trainers prepare and deliver individual one on one fitness programs through guiding, supporting and motivating members with in-depth personal training, testing, and accountability. They connect with new and existing members to help them in achieving their overall fitness goals.

Our Personal Trainers will preform the following functions:

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational personal training sessions, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the CDYMCA mission and goals.


• Conduct health screening questionnaire to ask and answer questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being.


• Pursues continuing education of coaching excellence for the latest in fitness trends and exercise science. Assist members with proper usage of wellness equipment and exercise techniques.


• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members on a one on one basis.


• Personalizes programs for members based on assessment. Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture.


• Celebrates achievement related to personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being.


• Responsible for accurate personal training session records and redemptions.


• Follows CDYMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations (weather, closings, etc.).


• Maintain cleanliness of the facility as a member of Clean Team.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Our Personal Trainers hold the following qualifications:

• Current CPR and national certification for Personal Training instruction required.


• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.


• Minimum of one year experience in wellness field preferred.


• At least one year of experience personal training preferred.


• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.

Hourly rate is $19.85 per hour with a free single YMCA Membership and Discounted Childcare Upon Hire!

Experience

Education

Preferred

• Bachelors or better in Sport Management


• Bachelors or better in Physical Education Teacher Education
