Territory Asset Protection Manager


The Territory Asset Protection Manager is a field-based manager with responsibilities throughout four major categories in the assigned area of the position: Retail Operations & Audit, Inventory Shortage Control, Theft Investigation and Resolution, and Safety. The Territory Asset Protection Manager will perform store visits and conduct audits to identify performance and compliance gaps in each unit within the categories listed above. Based on findings in each unit, the Territory Asset Protection Manager will address concerns by partnering with the store teams and field leadership to develop action plans to improve and maintain performance. Additionally, the Territory Asset Protection Manager will act as an investigator for American Freight, employing analytics of various reporting tools to identify internal and external theft. The Territory Asset Protection Manager will be solely responsible for the successful resolution of all investigations within their assigned area, and act as a liaison between outside law enforcement agencies and American Freight as required. The position is a field assignment requiring the ability to work independently without daily supervision, while at the same time functioning as part of a larger Asset Protection department.


Position Responsibilities



  • Performs in-depth operational audit / reviews of store performance and compliance in accordance with American Freight policy and procedures.

  • Compiles detailed written reporting around audit / store visit findings including the development and follow-up of action plans to correct identified deficiencies.

  • Conduct and direct investigations through traditional and non-traditional methods (cyber, data analytics, social media, open source research).

  • Validate data trends using CCTV, prepare case and investigations files, and partner with store and field management to investigate and resolve identified issues.

  • Monitors and proactively addresses outliers related to controllable costs, profit, margin, operational processes and compliance as measured through appropriate scorecard/reports.

  • Provide recommendations for the implementation of policies and procedures, and creation or modification of systems in order to prevent and/or minimize loss or liability.

  • Leads assigned territory in ensuring that locations properly prepare for and conduct an accurate physical inventory process. Subject matter expert on Inventory instructions, post inventory reconciliation and inventory training.

  • Educates and motivates store team members and field management in achieving shrink, workers compensation and general liability goals; as applicable.

  • Leads Shrink and Safety Focus Programs within assigned territory.

  • Advocates to ensure the customer and associates have a safe environment to shop/work in. (OSHA requirements and general liability adherence)

  • Liaison with various law enforcement agencies and coordinate dissemination of data related to store incidents, investigations or other inquiries.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


 


Desired Skills & Experiences



  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent related experience can substitute for degree.

  • Minimum 3-5 years combined experience but must include multi-unit management experience and experience in the Loss Prevention industry.

  • Ability to use strategic thought process to minimize exposure to emerging threats and trends.

  • Previous use / knowledge of Exception Based Reporting tools.

  • CCTV system knowledge (IP & Analog Systems)

  • Advanced computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe).

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, prioritizing (time management), problem solving and presentation skills.

  • Ability to influence activities and results of those who are not direct reports.

  • Formal Interview / Interrogation Training preferred.

  • Loss Prevention Qualified / Certified, CFI or other industry certifications a plus.

  • Must be willing to travel (Approx. 75%) and be flexible with working hours depending on business needs and deadlines.
