As a Senior Data Scientist you will be located within the PNC Footprint with the exception of Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii. Remote and hybrid work options available.

As a Senior Data Scientist within PNC’s Asset Management Group (AMG), you will join the Data Analytics and Solutions team to solve some of the most impactful business problems using a variety of AI and ML technologies. You will collaborate closely with business partners and domain experts to develop innovative data driven solutions to support AMG’s business growth.

Responsibilities include:
• Leading the design, development and monitoring of repeatable and interpretable customs models based on deep understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business problems.
• Engaging with business stakeholders, product managers and engineers to understand their requirements and identify challenges.
• Ensuring deliverables meet client needs and lead to measurable gains through metrics that you will contribute to define

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Master ‘s degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics…) or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Strong background in probability, statistics, and machine learning algorithms
• Excellent programing skills in Python, with strong working knowledge of Python’s standard and ML libraries
• Advanced SQL skills
• Spark experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience in hypothesis driven learning and turning data into actionable insights
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Shiny is preferred.

Job Description


  • Leads the implementation of analytical projects that leverage vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights.

  • Directs the data gathering, data processing and data mining of large and complex datasets.

  • Leads the development of algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques like machine learning to predict business outcomes and recommend optimal actions to management.

  • Leads analytical experiments in a methodical manner to find opportunities for product and process optimization. Presents business insights to management using visualization technologies and data storytelling.

  • Partners with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven solutions for the business.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
