Responsibilities

Altec is currently looking for a Front Office Coordinator at our Roanoke, VA location. This position provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and serves as a front-facing coordinator to all internal and external customers. This includes all receptionist and office coordinator-focused responsibilities, and other tasks will be assigned as needed.

Receptionist-focused responsibilities include:


  • Management of high call volume through a multiline phone system, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
  • Greeting customers and visitors by welcoming them in a friendly manner, answering inquiries, and directing them through the sign-in process
  • Ordering and keeping inventory of office supplies
  • Ensuring the organization, cleanliness, and appropriate stocking of common areas, including the front lobby, conference rooms, and kitchenette area
  • Ensuring meeting rooms are prepared prior to each scheduled meeting
  • Ordering and coordination of multiple high volumes of catered lunches on a daily basis
  • Communication and arrangements related to family events


Office Coordinator-focused responsibilities include:

  • Updating and maintenance of personnel files
  • Coordination of interview schedules and other associate-related appointments
  • Management of emergency evacuation plan and related materials
  • Timely preparation of new hire orientation material
  • Processing of multiple credit cards on an ongoing basis
  • Assistance with payroll and recruiting responsibilities as needed
  • Providing Human Resources administrative support to the greater HR Department


Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two years' applicable experience required
  • Four year degree may substitute for experience requirement (and is the preferred education)
  • Microsoft Office Suite and other office management applications required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be reliable and a self-starter with the ability to organize, prioritizes tasks, and multitasks effectively
