Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Engineer 1 for our team in Salem, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions


  • Identifies and documents technical scope of change in support of small changes to already supported functionality or interfaces

  • Creates a simple set of testable system requirements and technical documentation for well-defined functionality, following requirements standards and documented best practices

  • Provides technical content for system design/description documentation

  • Executes a subset of system-level processes, with efficient and accurate hand-offs to/from customers or development teams at the aircraft and sub-system/equipment levels

  • Assesses existing system's compliance with a select set of customer requirements utilizing existing hardware, software, and configuration

  • May provide support for tool maintenance or perform bench testing of select interfaces or functionality

  • Identifies and resolves defects of basic scope using proper engineering tools and techniques

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

  • Basic troubleshooting and debugging skills and knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:

  • Systems Integration

  • System Safety

  • System Requirements

Desired Qualifications


  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)

  • Previous work or internship experience working on consumer or aviation products
