We are seeking a full-time Material Handler- Equipment (2nd Shift) for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting material with accuracy while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Examine, sort arrange, count, store, pick and pack items for storage/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements
Responsible for accuracy of inventory, transactions, and material movement
Pull and audit material as required for KANBAN, shop order, move order or sales order requirements
Issue and transact material requested through material withdrawal forms
Receive, transact, and sort inbound material and operate RF scanner device to transact and move material
Replenish material into primary picking locations and perform cycle counts as required
Ensure First in/First Out (FIFO) and Last in/First Out (LIFO) policies are adhered to
Follow Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials
Pack materials to ensure adequate delivery to internal and external customers
Must meet quality and productivity metrics
Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment
Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy) and all safety standards and policies
Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
Must possess the ability to operate equipment that is design rated for operators 300 pounds or less
Must possess the ability to safely/efficiently operate at least three pieces of motorized material handling equipment such as a turret truck, reach truck, cherry pickers, counter balance and pallet walkies and operate and program Vertical Lift Machine
Ability to work variable and flexible hours including overtime
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of 1 year previous equipment related experience
Must possess experience and proficiency using computers
Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
Must possess the ability to operate equipment that is design rated for operators 300 pounds or less
Must possess the ability to safely and efficiently operate at least three pieces of motorized material handling equipment such as a turret truck, reach truck, cherry pickers, counter balance and pallet walkies and operate and program Vertical Lift Machine
Desired Qualifications
Excellent safe operating record
Previous equipment certification
Database experience preferred including Microsoft Excel and Access
