Job Description:

The Community Relations Manager helps Taos Ski Valley, Inc. to connect through communication, collaboration, and connection with the broader Taos community. Our ideal team member has excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills, and also the ability to foster positive relationships with both individuals and organizations. Youll be an ambassador for Taos Ski Valley, Inc., often speaking publicly with community stakeholders within the Taos and Northern New Mexico communities. This position creates written content and story material. This position provides guidance to Human Resources and helps organize and manage staff volunteer activities with community partners. This position also collaborates with the marketing department and public relations firm to plan and publicly promote community outreach efforts.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Develops and executes a community relations strategy to build and maintain programs and activities that will have a positive impact on the communityBuilds and maintains relationships with members of the community, key individuals, and other organizationsIs an ambassador for Taos Ski ValleyCoordinates, organizes, and implements the Taos Ski Valley Speaker Series (some weekends and evenings)Develops and fosters direct relationships with local nonprofit partners that align with the Taos Ski Valleys community relations strategyAttends local, public governmental meetings to be informed of efforts Taos Ski Valley, Inc. can lend its support and to correct any misinformation at these meetingsCollaborates with Taos Ski Valleys marketing team to ensure media opportunities are created or realizedDrafts various communications that promote the companys community relations activities, as well as individuals or groups within the companyAttends relevant events and activities to represent the company and build strong relationships with key community members/ organizations (some weekends and evenings)Collaborates with Taos Community Foundation and nonprofit organizations on funding initiatives and yearly sponsor activities and programsManages annual budget and assists with processing sponsorship and charitable giving contribution paymentsCommunicates employee participation and outreach efforts with HR for employee communication distributionWorks with various departments and with people at various levels, building cross-functional relationships within Taos Ski Valley, Inc. to engage in community outreach effortsKnowledgeably speaks to Taos Ski Valley, Inc.s environmental, social, and development effortsMaintains reliable attendance on all scheduled workdaysProvides operational support when neededPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree preferably in a related fieldExperience in the Taos community for a minimum of five years; preference given to Taos localsExcellent oral and written communication skillsKnowledgeable of community relations strategies and tacticsPossess strategic thinking and leadership in linking community relations activities to company strategies and goalsAbility to drive results and show successful outcomes from effortsAdept at project management and event planningAbility to represent the company in public, and interact professionally and appropriately with people at all levels inside and outside of the companyAbility to simultaneously manage multiple projects with meticulous attention to detailAbility to work occasional nights and weekends

Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions.

Physical Demands of Position Include:
Working conditions vary based on weather and job duties. Occasionally might have to lift or move office items up to 10lbs, more with assistance; 5% of time may be spent walking, occasionally outdoors or on snow/ice, to meetings or other departments; 5% of time may be spent reaching for items; and 90% of time will be spent sitting working with the computer, on the phone, attending meetings speaking, discussing, or listening.
