Job Description:

Core Lab

Shift: 10 hour shift w/3 day weekend off, Weekend and holiday rotation

• Performs clinical testing in at least two of the following departments: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. Staff who work second or third shifts must be competent in all areas mentioned above.


• Receives specimens, performs clinical testing, understands method principles, performs quality controls and instrument maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.

Requirements

• Nationally recognized clinical laboratory science certification, credentials or equivalent.


• Microbiology experience preferred.


• Accurate performance and collection of tests while maintaining patient confidentiality.


• Reasoning ability and good independent judgment.


• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.


• Strong communication skills.


• Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.


• Ability to work under stress and contribute to the team environment.
