The Manager, M&A and Technical Accounting will work in close collaboration with the Controller and the Director, M&A to lead the accounting & finance workstream and support broader acquisition integration efforts. The Manager will be responsible for managing all accounting & finance activities for acquisitions, including financial due diligence, opening balance sheet, intangible valuation, and documentation of prospective financial information and support of newly acquired company’s accounting activities in the post-close period. Additionally, the Manager will partner with internal and external accounting experts as well as acquisition target personnel to understand the acquired business, their current accounting (e.g., financial reporting, accounting policies, etc.), and how they will fit into the MTM ecosystem. The successful candidate will leverage previous transaction experience to support pre- and post-close technical accounting matters. The Manager role is a highly visible position, and the successful candidate will be expected to be a strong team player that works collaboratively with individuals at varying departments and levels across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
Participate in pre-acquisition financial due diligence discussions
Develop strong understanding of the Target’s accounting policies and procedures to determine the appropriate steps required to align with US GAAP and MTM’s accounting policies and procedures
Understand the target’s financial statements and business operations to drive post-acquisition integration activities and track/report synergy realization.
Work with accounting and finance functional leads to develop detailed GL accounting operations integration plans and budgets. Set forth and execute a roadmap to integrate financial systems with the goal of transitioning to Workday, MTM’s financial system
Participate in the production of the opening balance sheet, valuation reports, and business combination accounting memoranda for each transaction
Monitor and ensure continued appropriate accounting for contingent consideration, deferred compensation, and indemnifications specific to each transaction
Support working capital settlements and closing statements
Support year-end audit and tax reporting
Assist with ad-hoc technical accounting matters to ensure MTM’s external financial reporting is following US GAAP
Draft technical accounting memos, accounting position papers, and control documentation to support MTM’s accounting conclusions and processes
What You’ll need:
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting required
4+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience accounting for M&A activity
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and/or projections
Proficiency with General Ledger (GL) accounting close requirements, core financial processes, and potential impacts associated with merger integration activities.

Salary Max: $130,000
