Marketing and Communications Specialist at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Deadline to apply: Until filled Saint Vincent College currently has an opening for a Marketing and Communications Specialist. This position provides administrative support to the Marketing & Communications department by processing advertising requests, budget-tracking and other internal processes; and assists the director and other marketing and communications staff with office coordination needs. This position will also serve as a representative of the Marketing & Communications team to a number of campus partners, providing marketing support and strategy, and serving as the liaison between those campus partners and members of the Marketing & Communications team. This individual will generate press releases, website and magazine content, and internal messaging, and assist other staff with copywriting, proofing, editing, graphic design, photography, videography, social media content and/or other areas of marketing in line with the individual's skillset.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Minimum of one to three years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field. Administrative / office management skills a plus. 1. Strong copywriting and proofreading skills and demonstrated knowledge of AP style.2. Ability to manage several projects at once and work within deadlines.3. Great organization skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage high project volume.4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:1. Experience working within marketing and communications at a college or university.2. Proficiency in project management and/or budget management.
Essential duties:1. Responsible for proofreading College communications and publications.2. Responsible for editing and approval of all announcement submissions to the Saint Vincent College Portal (MySV). 3. Works collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications staff and campus partners to generate content for social media, the College website, and the College magazine.4. Serves as a representative of the Marketing & Communications team to other areas of the College.5. Schedules, coordinates and manages assignments with student work study employees and interns.6. Prepares a variety of documents such as press releases, correspondence, reports, and other files as needed. Verifies for completeness, proofreads for accuracy, grammar and spelling, fact-checking, consistency of messaging and conformance to branding standards.7. Manages office inventory and orders supplies and merchandise, reserves meeting rooms, books equipment and other services as necessary.8. Manages other office functions such as sorting, filing, photocopying and assembling documents, and receiving, distributing, addressing and sending mail.9. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications.10. Attends special campus events such as Commencement and Homecoming outside of regular business hours as needed.
