About the Role

In this role, you will partner with business leaders and engineers to support the digital technology planning behind online selling that powers the iconic brand Banana Republic. You will help define the product roadmap by working with other product management counterparts and leaders to understand upcoming capabilities to positively impact the customer experience. This role includes projects relating to site content, technical release planning and execution, help prioritize technical product enhancements and will be a key contributor to the success of our e-commerce business. In this role, the candidate will demonstrate technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to non-technical & business stakeholders.

What You'll Do


  • Write robust requirements, prioritize the backlog, and work closely with the engineering teams to deliver and test quality software

  • Develop and manage project plans and key stakeholder engagement strategy on all initiatives

  • Build relationships with key business partners and other brand stakeholders; articulates product needs clearly and succinctly to different audiences and cross functional partners

  • Develop in depth knowledge of industry trends and standards to introduce the continual process, tool and methodology improvements

  • Identify, measure, and interpret results to validate product strategy;  Provide research, analysis, and support for identifying, evaluating, and resolving strategic opportunities

  • Regularly influence leadership team decisions and initiatives

  • Responsible for planning, budget and end results; sets policies for sub function/function

  • Responsible for driving awareness and adoption of new and existing capabilities on the proprietary Gap Tech/ central software platform particularly in the areas of content & product merchandising, promotions, acquisition and retention strategy, and checkout.

  • Work alongside a number of cross-functional teams including data science, engineering/technology, UX, design, and commercial teams such as brands and affiliates in order to gain insights and translate those needs into merchandising and product solutions.

  • Leverage platform technology to develop data-driven UX/customer experience playbooks around how to win in eCommerce with a specific focus on UX best practices and getting to know the consumer

Who You Are

  • Leads and motivates to build high performing teams

  • 10+ years digital/ecommerce program and project management experience

  • 5+ years managing large-scale digital and technical projects

  • Possesses deep knowledge of software platforms and can translate technical functionality into business benefits which lead to statistically significant growth. Develops data-driven go-to-market strategies and manages teams of marketing managers, product managers, engineers, and UX.

  • Fosters collaborative relationships with executive partners across a complex matrixed organization.

  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing platforms, APIs, and/or complex customer capabilities

  • Experience working with large software engineering teams both within and outside of your domain

  • Develop innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast changing environment; cover a wide range of activities requiring complex judgments

  • Comprehensive understanding of theories and practices in multiple related subject areas
