Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:30pm

Pay: $29.13; this is a collective bargaining position

What you'll be contributing:


  • Installs, dismantles, repairs, reassembles, and aligns machinery, equipment, and tools as needed to improve function and operation. Repair buildings as needed.

  • Solves routine maintenance problems regarding equipment and machinery effectively.


  • Performs duties with verbal instructions and/or by reading and interpreting blueprints, charts, and tables.

  • Utilizes cutting and welding equipment to perform repairs and other duties performed.


  • Maintains proper records of the parts and materials used in maintenance jobs and job procedures.

  • Cleans up after each maintenance job is completed. Inspects tools for proper operation and stores them in the appropriate manner.

  • Continuously observes all safety rules and regulations.

To succeed in this position, you will need:


  • High school graduation or equivalent is required

  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, charts, and tables.

  • Ability to safely and effectively operate a man lift, scissor lift, fork truck, drill press, ironworker, rigging equipment, air, and electric power tools, cutting torch, welder, general hand tools, chain fall, and related equipment.

  • Willingness to learn, training will be provided

What to expect in a cement environment :

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 90 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
