Responsibilities



The Reimbursement Analyst Position reports directly to Reimbursement Director. Key responsibilities of the role include:Will compile and formulate relevant data and coordinate the filing of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) Annual Hospital Financial Survey (HFS) and the Annual Indigent Care Trust Fund Survey (ICTF-DSH). Will gather documents and coordinate the filing of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and any related analytical work. The Analyst will review and provide support for any information or data required for the settlement of Medicare bad debt, disproportionate share and medical education. Will support the reimbursement director with the review and analysis of both Centers Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) policies.


Impact of this role in the organization: The reimbursement analyst will be a key associate in the preparation and filling of DCH-ICTF DSH survey which forms the basis for $80 million of net supplemental income annually. The filing of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports recertifies all ten Wellstar Health System (WHS) Hospitals annually for participation in the Medicare/Medicare programs . More than 40% of WHS' net revenue is generated via participation in these two government health care programs.

Qualifications



Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting/Finance or post High School Education with additional 5 years of Related Job Experience.

Required Minimum Experience: 2 years in accounting/finance, experience in the preparation and analysis of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports is highly desirable.Preferred Experience: 5 years of Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report preparation and filing of Medicaid Hospital Surveys.


Required Minimum Skills: Analytical skills, Computer skills, presentation skills, accounting skills, government programs reimbursement knowledge, good communication skills, ability to interact professionally with multiple departments including financial accounting, patient financial services and managed care. Able to handle multiple tasks.
