Summary Posted: Jul 21, 2022 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number:200402285 The Health Technologies Team conceives and proves out innovative technology for Apple's initiatives into the high impact health and wellness space. We are seeking a highly motivated Biomedical Scientist to join a cross-functional and multi-disciplinary team to work on feasibility assessment and development of health and wellness related sensors, systems, and applications. Key Qualifications Experience utilizing biomedical sensors and systems for measuring physiological signals A background working with multi-sensor platforms to collect and analyze physiological data in the health & wellness and/or fitness realms Experience with design of human studies to test the feasibility and performance of health sensing functions and features Able to process, troubleshoot, and clean large datasets from real-world human studies Experience applying signal processing techniques to extract features and health information from physiological time-series data Programming skills to support data analysis, simulations, modeling, and visualizations using Python. A demonstrable understanding of human physiology. Description You will help drive the feasibility assessment of health technologies by designing targeted studies where the fundamentals of sensing technologies are rigorously quantified You will establish minimum data requirements for a successful study outcome to ensure that incoming study data is of sufficient quality You will use your understanding of physiology to develop rational proof of concept predictive models that demonstrate feasibility of health technologies You will distill and interpret the data into elegant visualizations and narratives to influence product design and development goals You will solicit and incorporate guidance from a variety of teams at Apple for setting sensor specifications and algorithm performance targets You will use data visualizations coupled with intuition and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate results to partner teams and Apple executives. Education & Experience A Master's or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent with relevant prior experience in medical, physiological, health, wellness and/or fitness sensors, devices, and applications is required.
