The Executive Director oversees daily operations and ensures overall success of the retirement community.  This includes effective management of staff and delivery of high-quality services to our residents and their families.  


 


Job Duties:


Quality Care & Services


  • Ensures continuity and consistency in both delivery and quality of services, which includes nursing care, resident engagement, dining services, housekeeping, and general maintenance of the community

Resident & Family Relations


  • Builds positive relationships with residents and their families, encourages effective communication by promoting an open door policy, and addresses questions, concerns and grievances in a timely, professional manner

Fiscal Management



  • Develops, implements and administers budget, ensuring food, supply and labor costs are within budgeted parameters, and addressing expense variances

  • Responsible for overseeing all business-related activities such as bank deposits, rent recaps, monthly bills, payroll, etc.


Sales & Community Outreach



  • Supports Sales Director in successfully executing sales process, achieving and maintaining occupancy goals, and achieving targeted monthly revenue.

  • Establishes a positive working relationship with regulatory agencies, ombudsman, and other community advocates

  • Maintains involvement in the community at large as a senior living leader by participating in outreach activities, such as giving presentations and engaging in various networking opportunities with local organizations and professional referral partners


Supervisory/Personnel Management



  • Provides effective leadership to departmental leaders and their teams in upholding all company policies, as well as the Primrose Mission and Core Values

  • Oversees employee onboarding program and ensures new hire and annual staff training requirements are met according to both state standards and Primrose standards.

  • Responsible for the oversight and performance of all community departments- evaluates performance, provides feedback, and applies disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies


Safety Compliance



  • Responsible for ensuring all department heads participate in monthly “Quality Assurance” meetings, and monthly QA reports are completed and shared with Regional Managers

  • Responsible for community’s compliance with mandated safety practices, including proper execution and documentation of monthly fire drills and fire extinguisher/smoke detector inspections.

  • Responsible for compliance with workers’ compensation program and OSHA requirements, ensuring proper reporting and documentation for all workplace injuries and illnesses.


Additional Duties


  • Perform any other reasonable related duties as assigned by Regional Operations Manager.

 


Qualifications: 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, gerontology, business, or related field

  • Three or more years working in the senior living industry

  • Demonstrated work experience in leadership and supervisory role with increased levels of responsibility in operational activities

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations as they relate to the senior living industry

  • Must meet any qualification requirements for Executive Directors as mandated by state regulations, where applicable

  • Ability to interpret financial statements and administer a set budget

  • Ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize details and daily tasks, while also engaging in “big picture” thinking

  • Ability to be on-call for emergencies and responsive to urgent needs of the community

  • Must pass all health requirements, background check, and drug screen
