What we do: 

The Operations and Resiliency Group (ORG) aligns Functions with similar capabilities to strengthen relationships between teams that drive, sustain, and support many of FRBNY’s essential onsite operations. ORG is comprised of the following business lines - Cash and Custody and International Cash Services, which provide depository institutions access to currency and coin, and access to currency internationally (respectively), Reserve Bank Accounts and Services (RBAS), which manages the practices and policies related to the provision of master accounts and Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) for all Second District financial institutions, the Bank’s Law Enforcement Unit and the Bank’s Business Continuity and Resiliency Function.

The Production Operations area is responsible for the 24/7 operation and administration of distributed payments systems supporting the WPO’s critical, high value, high availability Fedwire businesses.    In addition, this team is responsible for ensuring that the Fedwire Funds, Fedwire Securities, National Settlement Service, and Account Balance Services applications are available according to their business requirements while providing premium customer service to the Federal Reserve System districts and other application users.

Your role as Wholesale Application Support Associate:


  • Monitors the Production Fedwire Applications and Operating Systems including the completion of the daily checklist of activities which are critical in meeting the Service availability target for customer processing. Identifies, resolves, and escalates issues and/or anomalies to senior management.


  • Supports implementation of all environment and application changes to the Fedwire systems.


  • Contributes to analysis and reporting on production problems and operational issues.


  • Assists with projects, work group initiatives, and developing operational/technical procedures.


  • Assists other staff members when a higher level of expertise is required for resolving a problem. Assists and advises staff regarding approaches to resolving system performance issues and problems.


  • Assists internal and external Fedwire customers with updates and inquiries.


  • Applies advanced knowledge of the system applications and business flows to resolve complex issues.


  • Identifies and resolves issues, shares production operation activity, and escalates to senior management.


  • Drafts technical test scripts for various application and contingency test activities.


What we are looking for:


  • Experience in a computer technology or technical operations role with a customer service focus


  • A base knowledge of critical production environments and payment systems. Knowledge of Fedwire® business is highly desirable.


  • Experience with distributed computer processes and environments. Knowledge of distributed components such as UNIX, SQL, and WebSphere are desirable with capability and desire to expand expertise.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Advanced proficiency using standard business applications and software


  • Experience working independently and collaboratively across all levels
