Job Description:


Responsible for the daily analysis and replenishment of assigned suppliers and SKUs based on demand and business needs across multiple locations. They maintain replenishment parameters in ERP system, adjusting as needed. The Buyers serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers and are adept in prioritizing business with suppliers. Buyers will update the field on supplier performance while working with suppliers to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, Buyers will work with internal actors, such as the field and Inventory Coordinators, on business related issues. They will also manage the administrative follow-up to the PO process. The Buyer I position will be assigned non-strategic suppliers and will manage a SKU count that ranges between 2000-3000 and will be aligned with regions that support smaller divisions. The Buyer I position will be an entry level position that will begin working to understand the tools and resources available, will develop a beginner level proficiency in the use of the tools and the products and suppliers they manage.




Job Responsibilities:




  • Achieve specific procurement goals or provide support to others while following established procurement systems and protocols.


  • Daily inventory replenishment review via exceptions; deficit, excess, and other notes.


  • Analyze replenishment parameters such as forecasts, order cycles, safety stock, lead times and make appropriate adjustments in ERP system as it relates to daily exception review.


  • Maintain and update inventory parameters such as vendor and item minimum order quantities, vendor lead times, vendor contacts, etc.


  • Analyze effectiveness of forecasts and forecast adjustments along with minimum stock quantities and minimum stock quantity adjustments on a weekly basis.


  • Work with Inventory Coordinators on following up on purchase orders, expediting purchase orders, resolving purchase order and invoice discrepancies as needed.


  • Consistently monitor supplier performance; prepare LOTC reports and hold LOTC calls with suppliers, driving towards resolution of issues and ensuring optimal supplier performance.


  • Utilize ERP System order fill rate and trend reports, as well as legacy systems to make decisions.


  • Project Management involvement as needed, such as shuttle reduction, ABC Classification, NetOps Consolidation and CIP initiatives.


  • Work with sourcing team to drive supplier minimum reductions and service improvements, through forecast collaboration.


  • Use the tools provided to maintain top SKUs within inventory target and collaboratively work with sales and customer service to make decisions that will improve performance of the items.


  • Work collaboratively to reduce Customer Dedicated Inventory and Sales Rep to advise stocking strategies.


  • Accurately and concisely communicate updates to the organization and keep the organization abreast on requests, questions, and concerns; proactively take initiative on questions or issues that arise.


  • Other duties as requested.




Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:




  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university in logistics, transportation, business or related field, or equivalent experience


  • Prior Oracle experience strongly preferred


  • Highly motivated, customer focused person with the ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment


  • Sense of urgency to respond to inquiries and service internal and external customers


  • Basic understanding of inventory replenishment


  • Strong technical skills, i.e. statistical, mathematical, systems


  • Strong analytical skills, i.e. problem research and problem resolution


  • Excellent verbal and written communication


  • Organization skills and detail orientation. Project management skills helpful

  • Must be able to understand and use the tools and resources available





Working Conditions/Physical Requirement:




  • Office setting. Majority of time sitting and working at a computer; little to no travel.


  • Hybrid schedule available - 2 days per week in office, 3 days remote
