Job Description:

The EH&S Project Manager is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of EH&S projects across the Company's business units. The position will work collaboratively with the Sotera Health EHS team to implement EHS initiatives and strategic projects across all Sotera Health business units while encouraging a culture that is driven by safety, quality, discipline, transparency, and accountability.

Responsibilities:


  • Plans, organizes and supports large scale EHS projects across multiple geographical locations and functional/operational groups. The initial focus of these projects will be environmental with a focus on Ethylene Oxide (EO).
  • Responsible for the EHS project management and reporting the status of EHS projects.
  • Applies knowledge of engineering and environmental project management to accurately estimate timelines, mitigate risks and adhere to budgets.
  • Provides guidance to technical, engineering and operations teams on environmental impacts and strategies for major projects.
  • Liaisons with EHS team and other Sotera Health and business unit functions to provide information needed to leaders to make the best decisions possible.
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive communication plan that informs all project stakeholders on project status.
  • Leads cross-training initiatives, aimed at broadening the overall knowledge of the business, while fostering team building, and improved individual growth and performance.
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures regulatory compliance with requirements and metrics that positively impact environmental and safety performance. Monitors legislative and rulemaking activities and provides guidance and recommendations for addressing.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION


  • Bachelor's degree in a science field, including EHS Engineering, or similar discipline.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 3+ years of progressive EHS or project management experience, managing large, cross-functional projects.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and various other project management or EHS software programs.
  • Must be familiar with the requirements of maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 standards.
  • Preference toward candidates with multi-site global experience, operating in different time zones & cultures.
  • Record of delivering quantifiable results through project management and implementing change across multiple functional areas.

TRAVEL

  • Able to travel (domestic and international) up to 20-40% of the time

  • Strong understanding of EHS programs and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with a wide collaboratively and efficiently with a variety of teams and functions.
  • Ability to break projects and initiatives into actionable steps, assign responsibility and follow-up to ensure their timely completion; show leadership to ensure delegated tasks are completed.
  • Strong Communications - Effectively plans and executes communications for stakeholders, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively interpret and communicate details, into concise and understandable facts, numbers, and actionable items.
  • Ability to work comfortably within a fast-paced and matrixed organization.
