Job Description:

Area Assistant Director of Talent & Culture

The Area Assistant Director of Talent & Culture, functions as the multi-property Talent & Culture Support Leader, supporting several hotels in California. Reporting to the Regional Director of Talent & Culture, the Area Assistant Director of Talent & Culture will champion regional project and assist on property Talent & Culture teams to deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of all stakeholders.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Function as a strategic partner to the Regional Team, the property General Managers and the Directors of Talent & Culture in implementing hotel strategy, including coaching, counseling, recruiting and retaining the best colleagues.
• Assist the area hotels in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned Talent & Culture solutions and implement strategies in the areas of employee relations, DEI, compensation and benefits, recognition, administration and colleague wellness.
• Assist Departmental Leaders with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in colleague feedback
• Assist with the administration of labor relations including but not limited to leading grievance procedure, communication with Union Officials, etc.
• As needed Counsel and coach all colleagues on job related issues, career development and performance management
• Deliver a high standard of service for both our internal guests and external clients
• Partner with Area Talent Acquisition Manager to fulfill recruitment strategies to ensure sufficient and proactive sourcing for area hotels.
• Ensure all processes and policies are followed and adhered to, including recognition, training, selection, communication, health & safety, benefits, and administration
• Be a role model within the properties and demonstrate professional leadership skills that are fully aligned and in support of our culture
• Assist with the organization of colleague events at property and area level
• Participate in core committees as a method to drive engagement and recognition throughout the hotel
• Assist with internal Audits and processes to ensure compliance
• Foster and promote positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust and mutual respect
• Assist with all general administration duties as required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Leadership level position, Human Resources experience preferred
• University/College degree or diploma, preferably with a formal education in Human Resources Management
• Hotel operation experience is desirable
• Knowledge of local labor laws and employment law preferred
• Successful track record in professionally addressing & resolving difficult and challenging issues at all levels
• Ability to develop and encourage an open, stimulating and trusting environment that reflects our Company Values
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills, complimented by professional maturity, strong leadership skills and business acumen
• Self-confident, creative and proactive, able to prioritize and make effective decisions
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
