Job Description:

Knowesis is currently seeking an experienced Principal Investigator to support the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Biomedical Research Support contract to provide scientific expertise in the Medical Readiness Systems Biology (MRSB) branch. This support includes utilizing advanced analytical and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven systems and tools to both identify biomarkers and perform molecular analysis to inform medical interventions. *This position is contingent upon contract award.*

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Participate in research and development activities.

  • Gather and analyze data resulting from the collaborative research to be used for identifying disease protein profiles and biochemical and metabolic changes to complete the clinical characterization, as well as metagenomics/ microbiome sequencing.

  • Work to identify the interrelated networks and pathways, as well as characterize the molecular signatures of PTSD disease progression/disease state and candidate biomarkers.

  • Utilize established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data.

  • Write technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.

  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

  • Work under immediate supervision.

Experience


Required


  • Shall possess knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

  • Must be proficient in statistical analysis.

  • Shall be ably knowledgeable in / able to utilize Western blot/ELISA, molecular and system biology techniques nucleic acid and protein extractions with quality check, PCR, microbiome, metabolomics, pyrosequencing, statistics, and data analysis and visualizations.

  • Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavioral Science and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
