The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, the world’s largest medical research facility, seeks applications from exceptional candidates for the exciting and challenging position of Chief Financial Office (CFO), Clinical Center(CC), NIH, a career federal position in the Senior Executive Service. The incumbent functions as a member of the organization’s senior executive team serving as the principal advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and other senior staff of the CC in the financial management, planning, formulation, execution, and evaluation of the CC's programs. The CFO, CC will have a unique opportunity to provide leadership, vision, and direction in the financial operation of the nation's largest hospital devoted entirely to clinical research. The incumbent serves as the CC's senior financial representative by presenting financial information to the CC Governing Board (CCGB); compiling narrative and statistical material concerning the CC budget and major program areas in preparation for briefings to NIH/HHS/OMB. Supervisory duties include directing the day-to-day operations of the CC Office of Financial Resources Management, Office of Acquisitions, Office of Management Analysis and Reporting, and the Department of Clinical Research Informatics Management, by establishing priorities, objectives, and deadlines. The CFO, CC carries out duties and responsibilities in five major areas: Hospital and Federal Financial Management; Clinical and operational cost management aligned to Healthcare Industry-Standard Data; Leadership of Hospital Strategic Initiatives; Acquisition management in support of clinical and administrative functions; and Clinical Research Informatics Management.
