Specific Requirements:

• Produce new design models and assembly layouts. Work with MCAD/ECAD team to create drawings and Bills of Material using data management software (PDMLink).


• Engineering design based upon provided requirements


• Perform engineering analyses relating requirements to relevant design parameters. Evaluate preliminary structural design performance using CREO Simulate.


• Support various program and customer communications such as; status reports/meetings, telecoms with customer and vendors, prepare in PowerPoint & present design review presentations, and provide detailed technical reports.


• Support instrument or component testing

Experience Required:

• Experience in supporting teams on discrete design and development efforts


• Experience in solid modeling (CREO preferred) and analysis. Experience with product data management systems


• Detail design work, including drawings and parts lists generation, geometric tolerancing, structural and thermal design and analysis, optical system structural architecture, electro-mechanical packaging, optical system fabrication and metrology design, precision mechanism design and analysis and tooling designs. Knowledge of materials selections for discrete applications.


• Knowledge of government and industry standards for military and space applications


• Familiar with export classifications
